With the release of Battalion 1944 Closed Alpha 0.1 on May 26th, Pacific Gaming League went live with our new and improved website. Though our motivation for this was the expansion into other games and a more professional feel, we began working on it to coincide with the beginning of Battalion. We are pleased to announce that PacificGL will be offering a competitive 5v5 Season as soon as the developers enable private hosting and the build is stable enough. This will be open to all Oceanic players that meet our eligibility requirements, outlined in the event Rules section.
We have been keeping a close eye on Battalion 1944 since the crowd funding on Kickstarter. Though we are under a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with Bulkhead Interactive, we have several members involved in the Closed Alpha Testing and are dying to see what we can offer the community, in terms of Battalion events and competitive scenes, as we have done in other games. For the limited time we have played the Alpha, it appears to be well ahead of any other game at equal stage of development. The team behind it are focusing on the right things, their priorities are in order and they have vast amounts of experience with Unreal Engine 4. This game is one you simply can't miss. We have spoken to our server provider PacificES to make sure we will be ready when hosting becomes available. With the new functionality in our tournament software, as well as improved layout and graphic design, Battalion 1944 (5v5) Season #1 for Oceania is set to be a real kicker!
It is AMAZING to see the response from the developers, to include Australian servers for the Alpha testing, despite the difficulties we face here with many providers. We plan to capatilise on this and help them gain as much feedback as possible from our region. Supporting those that support us is our mission and it seems to be a key one for Bulkhead Interactive as well. That is so great to see. We have created a placeholder season for people to join, as Alpha testing unfolds. Rules and configurations will be added and altered as the game progresses, but feel free to register an expression of interest by signing up now, though we understand many will wait until more information is released.
Be sure to stay tuned at our Battalion 1944 news section and check back for updates at the event page to keep up-to-date. If you are unsure how to register, visit our Get Started tutorial. Good luck, have fun and I hope to see you on the battlefield!
